Endeavor Awards Presented by Angel Flight West

Nominations are closed for the upcoming 2018 awards. Be sure to vote for a nominee.

Do you know a Public Benefit Aviation Volunteer Pilot who goes the extra mile? If so, then you will want to nominate him and the organization he serves for the Endeavor Awards, the premier celebration honoring Public Benefit Aviation Volunteer Pilots and the great humanitarian organizations they serve. Each year, the Endeavor Awards are the focus of a campaign to raise awareness for aviation, celebrate volunteer pilots and provide $15,000 award grants to each of the two Public Benefit Aviation organizations represented by the Endeavor Award recipients.

The awards will be presented at the California Science Center on May 12, 2018. Nominees will be evaluated by an independent selection committee based on the criteria of lifetime achievement, length of commitment, number of volunteer flights or for an extraordinary event. This year, the second awardee will be selected by online voting by the general public. An invitation to complete a formal application will be sent to all qualifying nominees. The two Endeavor Award recipients will be announced in February 2018.

If you would like to nominate a volunteer pilot and the organization he or she serves for one of the prestigious Endeavor Awards, complete the online nomination form with the requested information. Provide the reasons why the nominee is worthy of an Endeavor Award, his or her accomplishments and any previous recognition received.

Nominations are open until January 12, 2018. Nominations received on or after January 13 will not be reviewed.

The Endeavor Award recipients, as well as a passenger flown by the organizations represented by the recipients, must be present to receive the award on May 12, 2018 in Los Angeles, California. Travel and lodging costs are included in the $15,000 award grants.

Endeavor nominee criteria:
  • A volunteer pilot who has gone above and beyond in giving back to his or her community through donated flights.
  • Flies on behalf of one or more registered 501(c)(3) non-profit based in the United States.
  • Operates aircraft within Federal Aviation requirements, including if flying Part 91, no compensation for fuel or otherwise without exemption.
  • Special consideration will be given to total number of lifetime flights, philanthropic impact, and compelling or extraordinary flight(s).
